Best Places to Eat in Carlsbad, CA

I was in Carlsbad, California for a couple of days and I got the privilege to explore the city and try some new restaurants. Here are my top recommendations if you are heading to Carlsbad.

Carlsbad French Pastry Cafe

Right after we signed into our hotel, this was the first restaurant we tried in Carlsbad. The interior was decorated with a cute French theme which felt like we magically transported into Europe. My family ordered the Strawberry Mousse, Fruit Basket, Coconut Macaroon, and the Buttered Croissant. We all agreed that the Fruit Basket was the best item we bought since the almond, chocolate crust paired so well with the mixed fruits and the cream.

Strawberry Shack

We spotted this cute restaurant on accident while walking around the city. The name is very fitting, they have strawberry everything! Strawberry ice cream, strawberry socks, you name it they probably have it.

264 Fresco

This cute Italian restaurant is definitely a dinner option that should be on your list when you come. At first skeptical of the menu, my whole family was pleasantly surprised by the food. We got calamari and a scallop dish and we all walked out of there wondering what recipes they used. You have to try their Brussel sprouts because they not only are perfectly crispy, but it has the smoothest tangy aioli that should be jarred in stores.

Organically Awesome Choice Superfood Bar and Juicery

If I had to pick a favorite spot I tried from this trip, it would be this place. This Superfood Bar is organic, gluten-free, dairy-free, plant-based, and does not use any processed or pasteurized ingredients. I tried their “Brain Juice shot” and for a cleansing shot, it was delicious! They make their own bread for their avocado toast which is a must-try. For the ride home, I got some of their protein brownies which I would 100% recommend.

The Goods

On our last full day in Carlsbad, my family stumbled upon The Goods. Not only is it so cute, but the donuts were amazing! They had so many unique flavors such as Maple and Smores. They even make gluten-free donuts and “donuts for the day.” Make sure to get there early because they sell out fast.
