Backround of Zuzu

. The Hotel Valley Ho has been an icon in the Valley for decades, located just south of Indian School Road off of 69th Street & Main Street. ZuZu at Hotel Valley Ho serves up innovative dishes from Executive Chef Russell LaCasce with brunch every day. The restaurant is most well known to their colorful cocktails and shakes, however we did not have the time to try either of these.

Atmosphere

If you are looking for a cute brunch place, this is the place to go. Zuzu has been recently revamped to become a stylish, mid-century modern space complete with a sleek bar and shaded patio. There are accents of a retro vibe with colorful furniture and guitars hanged on the wall.

Zuzu’s Donuts

These sticky donuts were an amazing introduction to the imaginative dishes served at Zuzus. The glazed donuts sit on marshmallow fluff alongside chocolate, caramel, and raspberry dipping sauces. My favorite sauce was the raspberry sauce since it had a different texture from the other two. The caramel did not go well with he sweetness of the donuts; it was too overpowering.

Spicy Chicken and Waffles

My sister ordered the chicken and waffles that was served with bacon egg aioli, tajin spiced corn, bird's eye chili hot sauce , and maple syrup. Although it was too spicy for her, the combination of the sweet corn and the hot sauce was perfect. I would definitely get this for my own but ask for their homemade berry compote to put on the waffles.

Avocado Toast

Everytime I go somewhere new, I have to get their avocado toast. This toast was served with lemon, olive oil, sea salt, marcona almonds, and petite greens. I have never had almonds on my toast before, but they did not disappoint. I loved the different textures of the burst of onion compared to the crunchy almonds. However, it did feel relatively bland to me.

Brie and Strawberry Toast

This is the toast that you could never forget. When I read that they put jalapenos and strawberries in one dish, I knew I had to force my mom to try it. The toast had balsamic olive oil, jalapenos, strawberries, brie, and microgreens. This whole toast felt like a ratatouille concoction, I would definitely recommend.
